  • Wisy received funding from Google for Startups to grow the company in the United States.
  • Google is looking for companies like Wisy to succeed and benefit from its products, connections, and best business practices.
  • Wisy’s computer vision technology seeks to transform the FMCG and retail industry.

San Francisco, California, July 13, 2023. Wisy announced today that it has been selected by the Google for Startups Latino Founders Fund program to receive non-equity funding awarded to founders of high-tech startups to build and grow their businesses in the United States.

In addition to the benefits of non-equity equity and other Google Cloud credits, founders will also have access to Google courses to accelerate sales, technology, and investment at no cost.

Min Chen, CEO and founder of Wisy commented, “Google has been a strategic partner of Wisy for a few years now. This investment further strengthens this partnership at a time of rapid growth for Wisy and it is a validation of the value of the technology developed by our team to transform the FMCG industry with artificial intelligence.”

The Google for Startups Fund works to create more opportunities for startup founders and communities to succeed by bringing the best of Google’s products, connections, and best practices to businesses.

“We are extremely proud to support the work done by Wisy Platforms with Latino Founders 2023,” said Daniel Navarro, Google for Startups marketing lead. “Wisy’s mission to solve a $1T annual problem in the CPG industry stood out among the applicants and we look forward to helping them continue to make an impact in the AI image recognition industry.”

This is the second round of the Latino Founders Fund and the fourth round of the Black Founders Fund. Since 2020, Google has invested $34 million in cash funding to founders who have raised $400 million in follow-on funding.

Wisy’s technology solves a very costly problem for the retail and FMCG industry: the lack of real-time shelf information that replaces manual counting and errors made at the point of sale. Through a combination of computer vision and Wisy’s artificial intelligence platform, users get real-time analytics, recommendations, and insights on how to optimize execution at the point of sale.

Wisy’s technological breakthrough brings the power of artificial intelligence processing in the cloud to an application on a mobile device. Retail teams no longer need to rely on the cloud to use this powerful AI technology.  The app itself has the power to process data and produce results in milliseconds without connecting to the Internet.

Wisy’s vision is to transform the FMCG and retail industry and make it more efficient.  Wisy has been recognized by Silicon Valley’s most prestigious innovation programs such as Carnegie Mellon VentureBridge, SAP.iO, Plug and Play, Nasdaq Milestone Maker, Google Accelerator program, and the SLEI-Ed program with Stanford University.
